Dear Patients & Friends,
I would like to reassure you that we are still open and are taking precautionary steps to protect our patients and the VCPS team from the COVID-19 virus. For the past two weeks and going forward, we are only seeing urgent and emergency patients in the office by appointment. We are “seeing” the remainder of our patients using a HIPAA secure video conferencing process. For more information about our telehealth option, please call the office or visit our website.
In the office, we are following CDC and Virginia Department of Health recommendations to maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and safety. All surfaces are being wiped down before and after each patient use. For the few patients who are coming in to the office, we are asking that they bring as few people as absolutely necessary with them.
At the time of this letter, Virginia is under a stay at home order by Governor Northam until June 10, 2020. We will be performing emergency surgery only until further notice. All other surgeries will be rescheduled as soon as it is safe. Obviously, this is an unprecedented situation and things are very fluid. If you have a procedure scheduled in April, May, or early June, we will be in contact with you individually soon to discuss your options and help ease the inconvenience in any way we can.
Finally, I want to reassure you that we will get through this together if we all do our part. The Virginia Center for Plastic Surgery is a strong practice with an outstanding, cohesive team of professionals, well positioned to handle such a crisis and be able to emerge ready to provide you the best aesthetic care possible when it is over.
We hope that all of you and your loved ones are safe and relatively stress free, and that we see you again soon. Please continue to wash your hands with soap and water and avoid touching your face at all costs.
Thank you,
Eric Desman, M.D.
